For recording, reflecting, and understanding yourself. These terms explain using Moodvale, the limits of optional services, and managing your content, purchases, and data copies.
1. These terms and the app provider
These terms describe the conditions for using Moodvale: Mood Tracker & Diary, its Apple Watch companion, and its widgets. The app provider is the Moodvale developer identified on the App Store product page. Contact: moodcheckapplication@gmail.com.
Please read these terms and our Privacy Policy before using the app. If you do not accept the applicable conditions, you can stop using it. These terms do not replace system permissions or separate consent required by law. Reading them or using the app does not automatically grant health or other permissions.
Apps obtained through the App Store are also subject to applicable Apple Media Services and app-license terms. If no applicable custom end user license agreement is supplied in the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) applies. These app-use terms supplement, and are not intended to replace, that license. Mandatory law and the applicable App Store license take precedence if there is a conflict.
2. Features and eligibility
Moodvale offers personal mood and journal entries, photo and voice attachments, activities and self-ratings, statistics and reports, reminders, and optional health comparisons, iCloud sync, Apple Watch, and widget features. Basic journaling does not require a separate account. Some features depend on compatible hardware, operating-system versions, permissions, an Apple Account, network access, or available cloud storage.
The app is not directed to children under 13. Users below the local age for independently entering an agreement or consenting to relevant information processing should use it with the assistance of a parent or guardian and comply with local age requirements.
3. Personal journaling and health limitations
Moodvale is a personal journaling and reflection tool, not a medical device, medical service, diagnostic tool, or emergency service. Mood scores, self-ratings, trends, health comparisons, and prompts are for personal reference and do not replace advice from a doctor or other qualified professional.
Associations in charts do not establish cause and effect or guarantee that any activity, sleep duration, or exercise amount will improve your mood. Missing data, device errors, entry times, time zones, and calculation methods may affect results. Do not start, stop, or change treatment solely on the basis of app content.
We do not monitor or review your journal in real time to detect crises. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis-support service. Do not wait for an app reminder or a reply from our support inbox.
4. Your content and responsibilities
You retain the rights you hold in the journal entries, photos, recordings, and other content you create. Using the app does not transfer ownership of that content to us. Content is processed only as described in the Privacy Policy to carry out the saving, syncing, display, export, or support actions you choose.
Make sure you have the right to record, store, and share photos, audio, and information concerning other people, and follow applicable recording, privacy, and intellectual-property laws. Do not use the app for unlawful activity, to infringe others’ rights, defeat security measures, or disrupt services. This provision does not restrict conduct permitted by law.
Take reasonable care of your devices, Apple Account, and PIN. The app PIN does not cover every system widget, watch display, export, or backup. Manage privacy settings for those locations separately.
5. Permissions and third-party services
You decide whether to allow health, camera, microphone, and notification access through system permission screens. You may decline or revoke access; the corresponding feature may become unavailable, but basic mood and text journaling remains available. Health reading is separate from previously enabled State of Mind writing. Disconnecting Health in the app does not revoke every system health permission.
Apple provides iCloud, Apple Health, Apple Watch communication, and App Store services under its own terms and availability conditions. Production releases use Firebase for usage analytics and crash diagnostics; see the Privacy Policy for details and current controls. Recipients of content you share or export through other apps also handle that content under their own terms.
6. Sync, backups, and deletion
Keep suitable copies of important records. iCloud sync maintains consistent content across devices; it is not an unchangeable historical backup. Accidental edits and deletions may also sync. Connectivity, account status, insufficient storage, system scheduling, or offline devices can delay synchronization.
Turning sync off does not empty iCloud. Deleting the phone app does not automatically delete Apple Health records, watch data, cloud backups, or exported files. To remove all copies, manage these locations separately as explained in the Privacy Policy.
CSV/JSON exports help preserve or further process records, but do not include complete photo and audio file backups and do not imply a guaranteed import or full-restoration feature. We cannot guarantee recovery of content held only on a lost or erased device.
7. Charges, purchases, and subscriptions
Basic journaling remains free. Some additional features require a verified Moodvale Pro entitlement. Where available, monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions provide the same Pro features described before purchase. Any trial is offered only to eligible Apple Accounts; after the trial, the subscription renews at the displayed price unless cancelled. Installing the app, reading these terms, or recording a mood does not itself incur a charge. Cancelling or allowing a subscription to expire does not delete your journal entries.
If you choose an in-app purchase in a version that offers one, the price, currency, benefits, billing period, and automatic-renewal status are those shown before purchase in the App Store information and Apple confirmation screen. Apple processes purchases under its payment and refund rules. These terms do not promise prices, trials, or benefits that have not been offered.
For auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through the App Store, cancel in advance according to the purchase terms and Apple’s displayed deadline. If you do not want a trial to renew, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Follow Apple’s subscription-management instructions to manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Cancellation generally stops future renewal rather than automatically refunding amounts already paid. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Request refunds through Apple’s Report a Problem service; statutory refund rights remain unaffected.
If you previously purchased an entitlement, use the same Apple Account and an available restore-purchases flow, subject to Apple’s verification. A non-consumable one-time purchase does not automatically renew. Its scope is defined by the original offer; it does not guarantee access to every future service or perpetual availability of third-party services.
8. License and intellectual property
Subject to the applicable license, you may use the app on compatible Apple devices you own or control. Rights in the app’s code, interface, branding, and materials we supply belong to their respective owners. Third-party components and assets remain subject to their own licenses.
Unless permitted by law or the applicable license, do not copy, sell, or redistribute the app without authorization, impersonate its brand, or bypass security and access restrictions. This does not affect your rights in your own journal or restrict interoperability research or other exceptions permitted by law.
9. Updates, availability, and stopping use
We may update features to fix issues, improve the experience, support operating-system changes, or meet applicable requirements. Not all devices or system versions support every feature. Changes by Apple or other providers may also affect availability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, notifications, or sync.
You may stop using the app at any time, export records you need, and delete it. Stopping use does not cancel subscriptions or erase all copies of your information. Material feature changes will be communicated through release notes or other appropriate notice. Existing purchases and statutory consumer rights are handled under the applicable rules.
10. Responsibility and consumer rights
To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee suitability for a particular medical, professional, or specialized purpose, or the continuing accuracy of third-party services, data recovery, or calculations. Use entries, charts, and reminders in context and keep suitable copies of important content.
These terms do not exclude or limit liability that the law does not permit to be excluded or limited, including applicable liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, or personal injury. They do not remove mandatory consumer rights. Defects, losses, refunds, and other liability are governed by applicable law and the applicable App Store license.
11. Questions and disputes
If you have a concern about the app, information handling, or these terms, contact our email address with the details so we can reasonably assist. Contacting us does not prevent you from seeking relief through consumer-protection bodies, privacy regulators, or courts with jurisdiction.
Mandatory law and consumer protections applicable where you live are not excluded by these terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
12. Updates to these terms and contact
We may update these terms as features, services, or applicable requirements change. We will update the date on this page and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Changes requiring acknowledgment or consent by law will be handled separately. Updating this page does not automatically expand system permissions you have granted.
